I personally relocated to the Huntsville area 3 years ago from Chicago, so I have a little more insight as to what people are looking for and the information they are searching for about our area. I know Alabama has a stigma about it. My friends asked me what I was doing moving to Alabama. But it is nothing like you would expect. It is a technology hub in the South East. There are people from all over the country and the world for that matter due to NASA, the Redstone Arsenal, and Research Park. You should atleast make a trip out to see for yourself. I have listed and sold homes / land from Madison and Harvest, to Owens Crossroads and as far south as Albertville. The Huntsville area has a little bit of everything as far as housing. You can live in the city and enjoy maintenance free living in a condo. You can be 15 mins. away from work and feel you are in the suburbs and live in a subdivision with a pool, clubhouse, etc. There are restricted and gated communities, even one situated on top of a mountain with its own private drive up to the top. (Well what we call a mountain.) You can also be 25 - 30 mins out and have your own farm. It has something for everybody.
