| Description: | A welcome addition to the historic Denver Art District on Santa Fe is Showings Fine Art, tucked into the heart of the District at 834 Santa Fe. This unique gallery opened in early December, 2007. Enter into this classy gallery and you’ll marvel that this space can feel so airy. The 19th century building was refurbished to create a wonderful environment for enjoying art. Warmth radiates from the painted and old brick walls, hard wood floors and flagstone accents. Very earthy and inviting. Guest artist frequently show alongside Showings’ artist-owners Doug Martin, Janet Moore and Nick Reti. The paintings, though all representational, provide an entertaining mix of styles and techniques. Doug Martin’s oils skillfully portray light in landscapes of Colorado and the California coast. Janet Moore’s paintings in watercolor and the meticulous medium of egg tempera, produces sharply realistic still lifes and imaginative landscapes. Nick Reti’s paintings evoke a sense of time and place intimate gouaches and large landscapes in oils. Showings Fine Art is open Thursday through Saturday from noon to 6pm and is always manned by one of the artist-owners. The gallery remains open until 9:00 pm each month for First Friday Art Walks and Third Friday Collectors’ Nights.
