RockShop Show-Band Performance School is a carefully planned, 12 week program, covering all aspects of live Show-Band performance. Band members meet weekly for a guided 90 minute rehearsal session, leading to a video - recorded, "RockShop Revue" Sunday Concert to be held in a real venue, with full sound and lights. Open to Guitar, Bass, Drum, Keyboard, and Vocal students, 10 to 18 yrs. of age. Tuition is $375.00
◆ Dynamics- Band members learn to control the volume of their instruments, and the total sound of the group, leading to a musical performance with intelligible vocal parts.
◆ Sound Reinforcement Basics- Band members learn about the components of a sound system, and how to use microphones to amplify the sound of amps, drums, and vocals.
◆ Vocals and Harmony- Band members learn to sing together. Emphasis is on listening to each other and singing in harmony (Back-Up Vocals.)
◆ Soloing- Band members learn to play a solo and take the spotlight.
◆ Stage Presence and Showmanship- Band members are guided to work together to create an exciting, visually interesting performance.
The experience gained through participation in RockShop Show-Band Performance School
is intended to develop the ability of students to channel their talents and efforts collectively, and prepare them for and lead to membership in their own groups.
