| Description: | The Crape Myrtle Festival is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2008 in downtown Marshallville. This year’s events will kick off at 8 am with the 4th Run for Literacy, a 5K run down the winding country road, By 2 pm, the Festival will be in full swing with music from local country, gospel and rap groups; dancing by cloggers, folk and step dancers; a Little Prince and Princess Pageant; and a lawnmower race. Food, crafts and produce will be available. The Festival is sponsored by the Marshallville Women’s League, a nonprofit corporation, and attracts visitors from all over the state and nation. Come spend the afternoon and evening in the home of the Elberta Peach, downtown Marshallville. | |
