| Description: | Western Bluegrass Terminal is a freight complex, providing trans-load services from Rail to Truck as well as distribution and warehousing services. Terminal provides feeder line rail service for CSX's "Dixie Flyer" Corridor to the four M's (Miami - Mobile - Mexico - Memphis) Gateways. Terminal expands and creates new markets for western Kentucky firms through improved rail access. There terminal handles a wide range of commodities. The terminal has 11 acres of laid down area and has a established "Pipe Farm" equipped to handle large quantities of pipe, steel commodities (I-Beam),ReBar, Plates, Channels, and Rail. It recently handle 9 miles of new steel gas pipe line from Oregon for Texas Gas. The terminal handles large volumes of wood construction mats as well as other forest products. The terminals connects with Interstate 66 and Instate 69, with one of CSX's busiest routes (50 to 60 daily trains). It works closely with all CSX's Commodity Group Managers and TransFlo Managers. This movement often reduces rail transit time to Mexico by weeks. | |
