| Description: |
Conviently located on historic US Highway 80, Somewhere RV Park & RV Neighborhood sits in the exact same spot as the old (1940's) Pine View Motel. (Note: City-Data map incorrect, showing 8 - 10 miles West of actual location! Park is just one mile East of downtown Mineola at corner of US HWY 80 and new East Loop FM 564.)
With an eye toward history and the future, in late 2006, Jan and Don Nicholas purchased the 5 acre parcel of land and the two remaining dilapidated motel court buildings. Soon after they began the daunting project of clearing the land of overgrown vegitation, debris and removal of the old Pine View motel cabins which had been demolished and buried. With an appreciation for Mineola's history and love of old buildings, the two remainging cabins were rennovated and are now part of the new 34 space RV Park which opened for business January 2008.
The lightly wooded Somewhere RV Park & RV Neighborhood offers a beautiful setting with the ambience of country and yet is just 1 short mile from downtown Mineola. Designed with the RV owner in mind, spaces are angled and spread apart to provide plenty of elbow room, privacy and evening shade. Pull thru spaces are perfect for the short term visitor while the 28 back-in spaces are semi-hidden by trees and further back from the highway, creating a wonderful parklike neighborhood for the long term visitor/resident.
Folks are drawn to the park for a variety of reasons such as convenience to Walmart, antique shopping, active Amtrak and the Nature Preserve, but most often heard is the comment that the owners friendliness and customer service is what keeps folks coming back ... or staying for a lifetime.
In keeping with the owners country friendly attitude, park rules are country like as well: Do Unto Others, Relax, Share Your Smile and Keep it Simple! (In keeping with the Relax rule, the park's motto is: It's always 5 o'clock SOMEWHERE! (note website links not permitted, find our website online or via RV related websites) |
