| Description: | The Center for Holistic Medicine is the private practice of Acupuncturist Nancy Hyton. Nancy was in the first class to graduate from Asheville's Daoist Traditions College of the Chinese Medical Arts. She also holds a Master's in Phiolsophy from New York University and is a Certified Herbalist through Sage Mountain, Rosemary Gladstar's school in Vermont. She has taught at both the Appalachia School of Holistic Herbalism, located in West Asheville, and the Mountain Area Health Education Center, located in downtown Asheville. Nancy enjoys treating any and all conditions, exploring the wide application of the ancient tradition of Chinese Medicine. She has been practicing medicine since 2001 when she received her Certification in Western Herbal Medicine. She is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and carries a License to Practice Medicine from the North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board. Before she studied medicine she obtained a Master's degree in Philosophy, with a concentration in Asian Philosophy and Medical Ethics. Nancy has experience with a wide variety of conditions and is dedicated to helping her patients with the full spectrum of medical complaints. As a violinist and jeweler, she has a very sensitive hand, allowing for the gentlest needle sensation possible. |
