Our ministry brings together and supports volunteers to use their love of handiwork create items of care and comfort to serve people in physical, emotional or spiritual need. We distribute finished items to agencies and referred individuals in nursing and rehab centers, hospitals, parenting and domestic violence support groups, children's hospitals and homes, maternity departments, hospice and individuals receiving cancer treatment and pet adoption services (and more).
We provide a supportive atmosphere for members to learn and share their skills and creativity. Basic stitching is taught to beginners. We provide guest speakers to community groups wishing to learn more about our work.
Meetings are not mandatory, and some people work only from home. Donated supplies are used for our local and national projects. We are a trans-denominational ministry and no church affiliation is required to participate.
We do not solicit monetary donations but appreciate receiving donated synthetic yarn, cotton yarn, cotton and synthetic blend fabric, plastic storage totes, stitching accessories (needles, hooks, etc.), food storage bags in sandwich, quart, 1 & 2 gallon sizes, clear recycling bags, clear cellophane tape and packing tape, small plastic Easter eggs, and permanent markers.
