  • The Azalea Manor bed and breakfast is a beautifully preserved antebellum home in the historic city of Madison, Indiana located on the Ohio River. The city of Madison, on the National Register of Historic Places, is one of the loveliest and best preserved cities in the nation. Established in the 1800's, Madison has the charm of the old South and an interesting history. Located in the heart of the historic district, Azalea Manor is within walking distance of unique shops, antique stores, museums, public historic homes/sites, coffee and handcrafted candy shops, the Ohio River, visitor center, public library, restaurants and churches. Well known Hanover College is just a few miles west of the Bed & Breakfast. The Azalea Manor Bed and Breakfast, circa 1833, emanates the ambiance and charm of a lost era with ten foot double entrance doors, twelve foot ceilings, velvet fringed drapes, old shutters and window cornices, antique furnishings, and large Italian marble fireplaces. A large library of classic books from the past, classic records (old 78, 33, and 45's) ranging from the 1920's through the 1960's, and glowing hurricane lamps will soon take you back in time. The Manor with four guest rooms has modern comfortable beds and private baths; but, is otherwise decorated with antiques. Each morning an abundant breakfast is served in the formal dining room or on the veranda in appropriate weather. Please advise if allergies need to be addressed. Complimentary refreshments, fresh fruit and homemade goodies are offered throughout your stay. Several restaurants and bistro's are within walking distance of the bed and breakfast to accommodate you for lunch or dinner. Wireless internet service is provided for the convenience of our guests. History of Home Certified on September 14, 1992 in the Indiana Register of Historic Sites & Structures & on Sept 27, 1992 in the National Register of Historic Places by United States Department of Interior in cooperation with Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology. The official name of this historic home is the "Crawford-Whitehead-Ross House" giving honor to the thee primary owners which have made significant changes to the structure.
