Description:
Go back in time when you visit this partially restored ghost town at the top of the hill in Yarnell. Currently 4 old buildings in various stages of restoration with one needing total restoration as it was completely damaged in a severe wind storm. Old wagons, stage coach, ox cart and other artifacts from the old west and prospecting days. Take your picture at the Saloon. Or maybe you are looking for a very unique place to get married. We offer weddings in our old church at no cost. Visit the original rest stop built in 1925 when the highway was first built up Yarnell Hill. Bring a picnic and enjoy the views to the valley floor below. There is no charge but if you would like to make a donation for the restoration of the wind damaged old building, we will accept those, but there is no obligation whatsoever. Come and enjoy walking back in time. Our hours vary with the seasons, so it's best to call first. We are located at the top of Yarnell Hill (Hwy. 89) at milepost 276.2, which is the south side of Yarnell on the east side of the Hwy. If you are heading northbound, you will notice a long rock wall. If you are heading south, we are just south of the Ranch House Restaurant and Catholic church (approx. 2 blocks). There is absolutely NO SMOKING on the premises. There is a book available for sale for $10 that gives the history of the area entitled Tales of the Weaver Mountain Areas in Arizona Territory. We look forward to seeing you soon. This property has recently become available for sale. Call owner for details.
