|Description:||I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Clinical Supervisor who has almost 20 years of experience practicing within the psychological field. I provide an array of services such as Individual Therapy for both adults and teenagers, Couples Therapy, EAP and Drug and Alcohol Evaluations, Group Therapy (when available), Clinical Supervision for Licensure and Improving Clinical Skills, and workshop presentations for middle and high school students, local organizations, and Mental Health Counseling Agencies. Being a Certified Clinical Supervisor allows me the honor of supervising students who are in the process of earning their Master's Degrees in either Psychology or Mental Health Counseling, as well as clinical interns: those who have already obtained their Master's Degree and who are working towards becoming licensed as a Mental Health Counselor within the State of Florida. I am an in-network behavioral health provider for various health insurance companies and have daytime, evening, and weekend hours available for your convienence.
Choosing a counselor can often be a difficult decision. You're expected to go and talk to someone with whom you don't really know, about personal issues, and just talking to someone new can bring out anxiety in the best of people. I've often been told that peple feel comfortable with me rather quickly after we meet. I think that's because I'm genuine, non-judgmental, honest, and respectful when speaking with others, regardless if I'm in my office or not: that's just how I am. My office provides a warm and inviting atmosphere to help with the "awkwardness" that sometimes occurs when beginning therapy, and it's not long until my clients feel at ease; it's also a place that encourages recovery, progress, and growth. I strive to help my clients not only focus on the postitives versus the negatives, but to also enhance their relationships and develop realistic ways of coping so that they are able to steer themselves through the chaos of life.
So if you're looking for an interactive counselor who is honest and ethical, pretty well grounded and laid back, and just won't sit there nodding their head and saying "uh huh", you've come to the right person. I'm always helping you find the right path for you.
