| Description: | Built by David Gavin in the 1920's, The Lourie Theatre, located in downtown St. George, SC, is a beautifully preserved/renovated structure that reflects the era. Recently, the theatre created a troupe of artists, "The Half-Baked Players", and several quality productions have since been presented. This spark of creativity has begun to take root and to increase community involvement. Local schools, workshops, and a diverse venue of musical and cultural events have resulted. The Lourie Theatre is a lovely place for private events and can be reserved by contacting the theatre. Our upcoming production is Neil Simon's hit broadway comedy "The ODD Couple" (female version), which is being presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. Performances are: Thursday, May 17th 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 18th 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20th at 3:00 p.m. Ticket information and reservations and directions to the theatre can be obtained by phoning The Lourie Theatre (843) 56-DRAMA (843) 563-7262 We are easy to find: From I-95, Exit 82 (Hwy 78).
