Capital City Colonials is a tour company operating guided walking tours in Annapolis. We allow patrons to see the compact historic district from an 18th century perspective while walking with colonial-clad guides in the footsteps of the builders of Annapolis and our nation. You can really taste Annapolis with our new Food & History Tour. Spend three hours strolling around town with a dozen tasting and history stops. Enough food is consumed on tour to be considered lunch. Our Historic District 101 tour introduces 18th century buildings and history, but most importantly the people behind them. Stories and homes of the middling class as well as the grand homes of the gentry are viewed or visited. Also included is Maryland’s State House where George Washington resigned his commission from the continental army, a colonial kitchen and St. Anne’ Church to name a few. Our popular specialty tours include the Sands House, which is perhaps the oldest residence in Annapolis; Petty-coat Power, the women of 18th century Annapolis; and Washington’s Resignation Tour. Find out who in town printed the money and learn what women were doing back then besides tending the kitchen!
Our tour guide David L. Smith was named by the Four Rivers Heritage Area, 2006 Interpreter of the year.
All our tours start at the Hard Bean Coffee & BookSellers located at 36 Market Space across from the City Dock |
