Stepping Stones provides pre-school and child care programs for children age two months through 7 years.
Programs are provided in an educational setting with certified lead teachers and qualified staff. Established in 1982, this facility has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children continuously since 1991.
A large outdoor play area and a nature preserve on site allow planning for gross motor activities and group activities and games.
A new addition to the building allows the expansion of the 'Art Studio' that compliments the Science, Mathematics, Dramatic Play, Literacy and Music and Movement Centers which are a part of the "Reggio Emillia" approach to education. The Ohio Department of Eduation Early Learning Content Standards are followed to assist the children in preparing for kindergarten readiness.
The program for infants and toddlers has been picked to be part of a state initiative named " First Steps." This program requires screenings and specific training for our staff. The caregivers provide a clean, healthy and safe nurturing environment for the little ones. Low ratios are maintined at all times.
After school enrichment classes are available for children from kindergarte through second grade ages. These programs are held after school and for full days when the schools are closed for holidays or snow days. An education rich program is offered during the school year and a "Camp" is held each summer.
Families are encouraged to visit and be involved at all times and visitors are encouraged to drop in at their convenience. A security system limits access to families and staff only, but ring the bell and we'll be pleased to show you around.
Stepping Stones is proud to be a part of the Madison community and will continue to provide exceptional programs for young children and their families.
