Remarks: JUST BEFORE TOUCHDOWN, WE HIT A PREGNANT DEER. IMPACT TORE OFF L LDG GEAR AND FORCED A HARD-LEFT TURN BEFORE THE PLANE CAME TO A STOP IN A GRASSY AREA AMID SHRUBS. L PONTOON BENT 90 DEGREES AT MOUNTING POINT AFTER A/C WENT INTO GRASS. SUBSTANTIAL DMG. DEER WERE REPORTED AS BEING COMMON ON THE AIRPORT. SOME PILOTS MAKE A LOW PASS TO SCARE THEM AWAY BEFORE LDG.
