Description: Coal mining gave birth to Louisville, and artifacts from the town’s early days plus household and personal items fill this small museum. The museum features special exhibits from time to time. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and the first Saturday of each month. Admission is free.

Description: Louisville’s library has a long history, dating back to 1923, when the Chinook Campfire Girls made it their project to collect books that would eventually be housed in the town’s library. It wasn’t until 1980 that the library had a permanent home, and just 10 years later the collection moved again. In 2006 the collection was moved again to an even larger facility. It hasn’t seemed to bother residents, who visit so often the library has one of the highest circulation statistics for a library of its size in the state. There are children’s and young adult sections plus the usual audio and visual offerings. The library is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.

Description: This center’s six-lane pool allows adults to swim while kids frolic in the children’s pool, which features an impressive 160 foot waterslide. Louisville’s center is open Monday through Thursday 5:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 5:45 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adults pay $5.00 per visit; seniors pay $3.00, kids ages 13 to 18 pay $3.50, and those younger than age 13 pay $3.00.
