Description: The only Northern Virginia Jewish day school for kindergarten through middle school, Gesher is conveniently situated in the bustling Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia and Congregation Ahavat Israel just down the street. Founded in 1982 by several community families, the school combines Jewish studies and general studies for its 200 students. The student/faculty ratio is nine to one. Curriculum highlights include all-day kindergarten, gifted instruction, accelerated reading, Hebrew study, computers, a science lab, and an art studio. The school also uses the community center’s full-size gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, and performing arts auditorium, and students can participate in the center’s extended-day program. Bus service is available.
