• Underground Art Gallery was founded in 1997. We first opened for business in downtown Hastings which is a little known, secret, hidden, out-of-the-way shopping destination. We decided upon Underground Art Gallery for our name since “underground” means secret,hidden, and unconventional. Since we are not your ordinary, well-known “art gallery” per se’ we felt the name to be a good fit along with our location. There is no underground shopping area to be found . It is all in the name. In June of 2000, we moved to our present location on Highway 61, which is the upper part of the downtown business district. Our motto is “Art to Sea”. We carry a unique and eclectic selection of art and creative works from local, national and international artisans and craft’s people. We also provide a wide selection of nautical and sea life related art and décor for all of our nautical enthusiasts that come to visit us. We invite you to discover a shopping experience like no other. The atmosphere is warm and inviting which allows you to escape the stresses of your day. It is the kind of gallery you wander into and realize it houses many one-of-a-kind treasures that you and your loved one’s will love to own and cherish.
