Columbia State Historic Park

Columbia State Historic Park is more than a place to relax and enjoy a family day out. The park offers plenty of picnicking, trails, and outdoor fun, but it also has historical items. The park is found in Columbia, California and based on its Gold Rush history. The rush started in 1850 with a small amount of prospectors reaching the area. There was a discovery by these first few men, which then increased the number of miners trying their luck.

Columbia State Historic Park didn't exactly change as the years went by. Instead, the buildings and mining areas have remained frozen in the late 1800s, making Columbia one of the most well preserved gold mine towns. School groups, families, and other visitors can come to Columbia State Historic Park to look at the museums, town tours, and displays, and even visit the live theater plays. There are shops and restaurants, along with some attractions at Columbia Park.

Depending on the entertainment one wants to find, there can be fees. For example, a special event may be $20 to enter, while hiking and fishing are free. Gold panning, RVing, biking, backpacking, and metal detecting are all a part of a vacation to this area.
