Cooper-Molera Adobe

The Cooper-Molera Adobe is part of the Monterey State Historic Park located at 525 Polk Street, Monterey, CA. Originally owned by Captain John Rodgers Cooper who married into the prominent Molera family, the structure was build over three generations until 1900.

This historical landmark showcases Spanish style combined with New England architecture and was restored in the 1980s. The adobe's interior rooms are authentically furnished to represent different periods of the building's history. The grounds contains almost two acres of land available for public exploration including fruit and vegetable gardens, barns, farm animals and a visitor's center. Gardens open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and school programs and group tours are available by appointment only.

The Cooper-Molera Museum Store is staffed by volunteers and contains a myriad of reproductions and an extensive book collection focusing on the past and future of Monterey's natural and cultural resources.

Situated in the center of Monterey, the Cooper-Molera Adobe is walking distance from several other attractions such as Fisherman's Wharf and the Monterey State Beach, and is a short drive to Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Monterey is just over a two hour drive south of San Francisco, CA and about six hours north of Los Angeles, CA.
