Deep Creek Hot Springs

Deep Creek Hot Springs is located in Apple Valley. There are five hot spring water pools that do not have that terrible sulfurous smell and each with a different temperature. Visitors can also relax in the cooler waters of Deep Creek, and then climb Deep Creek Canyon to find a private spot to get a tan.

The best time to visit the springs are during the fall and winter, although visitors will need to bring warm clothes for the hike to the springs. When visiting during the summer, it is advised that visitors arrive early in the morning to hike to the springs and bring all supplies that they will need for the day, then hike out in the early evening as the temperatures can reach over 100 degrees.

There are no bins at the springs so it is asked that all visitors bring and extra trash bag and take it out with them. The springs are not to be visited after dark due to safety reasons.

There are three big pools at the springs then several smaller ones. The warmest pool is approximately 103 Fahrenheit and two to three feet deep, it is also crystal clear. The water from this pool cascades to smaller pools then over a waterfall to the largest pool middle pool.

All visitors need to take extreme caution when moving to each different pool and the rocks can be very slippery. Camping at Deep Creek is not permitted and is officially illegal.
