Disneyland Hotel, Anaheim, CA


The Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California is one of the more modern structures one can enjoy. The exterior of the building is early 80's with brick, metal, and plenty of windows to look out at the surrounding land. The hotel is located in the Downtown Disney District. It has an exterior elevator running up to the top floor, for an extraordinary view of the theme park.

Disney Hotel is meant to be a magical vacation destination, where one enters a fantasy land. They have 969 rooms in the towers, with Disney themes everywhere. For example there is the Sorcerer's Hat and Never Land Pool. The hotel also caters to business guests with the conference and meeting facilities.

The guest rooms are just as inviting as the rest of the hotel. Depending on the choice made a room with a balcony is certainly possible. The bed spreads, carpeting and walls are a bit busy in decor with floral and matching decor. Most rooms offer two beds, though a queen and couch are also available. The furniture is as modern as the decor. The amenities include high speed internet, room service, iron, ironing boards, in room safes, and all rooms are non smoking. Other typical hotel amenities such as phones with voicemail and flat screen TV's are offered.

There are club rooms. If a guest is part of the club they have priority check-in, staff that is available to help plan the visit, a continental breakfast and evening reception with wine and cheese. The club also offers a turndown service, DVD player, and movies.

Recreation at the hotel is just as amazing as the park. Guests will find koi ponds, a 5,000 square foot pool area and much more. The Cove Pools and Beach offer two pools with a volleyball court and sandy beach. The Koi Ponds encase Japanese fish in a lovely little pond for relaxation. There is also the Safari Adventure with remote controlled cruise boats. Guests can pilot the mini cruise boats for a small fee. Scenic waterfalls make up the oasis one can explore with mystery caves and tropical plants. The last section of recreation at the Disneyland Hotel is Team Mickey's Workout Room with top of the line equipment.

Dining is always necessary on a trip. So, Disneyland Hotel has a number of places to get a great meal starting with the Coffee House. The Coffee House is filled with biscotti, bagels, sweets, and specialty drinks. Crocs Bits n' Bites is near Never Land Pool. It contains many snack like entrees. Goofy's Kitchen is an all one can eat buffet in which Chef Goofy and his wacky staff will mingle throughout the restaurant to make the meal perfect. Steakhouse 55 offers American cuisine including some of the best steak and wine. Hook's Pointe is a surf and turf near the Never Land Pool. The Lost Bar is another Peter Pan themed restaurant. To add to the wonders is the Wine Cellar for a cozy meal in the wine cellar.
