Garin Regional Park


Garin Regional Park is located at Garin Avenue in Hayward, California and is approximately 45 minutes drive from San Francisco. The park is open daily from 5am to 10pm unless otherwise stated and has parking available. Visitors can also reach the park on public transport with AC transit bus #21 line the best option as it takes passengers to the Mission Boulevard and Garin Avenue stop.

The Garin Barn Visitor Center is open on weekends from 11.30am to 6pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day. There are artifacts from the ranching and farming history of the area, various displays and some antique farming machinery. The two acre Dry Creek Garden is open Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm and has nearly 200 native and exotic plants.

Garin and Dry Creek Pioneer Regional Parks have 20 miles of trails between them suitable for hiking, horseback riding and cycling. Fishing is permitted on Jordan Pond, which is home to largemouth bass, bluegill, sunfish and catfish. There are four large picnic areas at Garin Park with tables and barbecue brazier units, three of which can accommodate up to 100 people and the other serves 50.
