Lagoon Creek

Lagoon Creek is near a hiking path that runs along Redwood National Park. As a coastal trail it borders the northern end of the park, where families and individuals can get out and explore nature. Lagoon is the actual pond and the trail is often referred to as Yurok Look Trail. It is possible to find the trail in Crescent City or Klamath depending on how you look it up. The creek itself is rather unimpressive, having formed from water runoff and erosion.

Still, it is another ecosystem one can find in the state. Lagoon Creek is shallow in most parts, and doesn't move very quickly. The trail will take hikers around the creek and around both sides. Tall grass grows close to the creek, with small marine organisms running along the top and within the waters. Some California red woods and other native trees are found along the edges. Birds, deer, and other wildlife can be spotted getting drinks from Lagoon Creek.

As a destination it is not as popular as other places close to Redwood National Park. It offers seclusion and peace. Photographers often find some good shots at dawn or dusk.
