Northstar at Tahoe Ski Area


An outdoor adventure resort that opens for skiing during winter months, Northstar at Tahoe Ski Area features excellent scenery and plenty of exciting trails. The resort is located a few miles north of Kings Beach (on the north end of Lake Tahoe).

With a new village area featuring 35 shops and restaurants, a conference center, and an ice skating rink, the Northstar Resort is a great destination during the winter and all year long. The resort features 92 ski runs covering more than 3,000 acres of mountain. Besides downhill, the resort has trails for Telemark skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and tubing.

The resort opens for skiing during winter months, generally from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. The base elevation is 6,330 feet with a peak elevation at 8,610 feet. Northstar at Tahoe features two lodges, 19 lifts, and has an average annual snowfall of 9 meters. The ski season generally runs from mid-November to mid-April

Northstar at Tahoe Ski Area is located about 40 minutes by car southwest of Reno, NV and 15 miles north of Lake Tahoe. Visitors can enjoy other nearby tourist attractions: Donner Memorial State Park, Emigrant Trail Museum, Donner Lake, and historic downtown Truckee.
