Ocean World

Ocean World is privately owned and has been serving Crescent City, California since 1964. As an aquarium it offers an Under Sea Garden in a small boat basin. The barge was built in Seattle then floated to Crescent City where it now sites in the harbor. Visitors could go below the surface on the boat to see the natural habitat through observation windows.

In 1985 the barge was moved to dry land and became the Undersea World Aquarium. Now there are tanks with a half million gallons of water and various sea life such as seals, sea lions, sharks, and wolf eels. It is possible to do some shark petting as well as interact with the tide pool, watch sea lion performances, and thoroughly enjoy the marine world. Their hours of operation are 8am to 9pm in summer, and closing at 6pm in winter.

Pricing can change per year, but it is currently $9.95 for adults and $5.95 for children. Children are considered 4 to 11, with 3 and under free. They do allow group tours for a discounted rate based on 20 or more people. Groups must call for reservations. Groups are also not accommodated during busier season times like the holidays.
