Plaza Theatre

Palm Springs is proud of its cultural offerings and the Plaza Theatre is no exception. The theatre is located on South Palm Canyon Drive and is the home of The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies. The theatre and show have been featured on National television and people come from all around during the holiday season to enjoy the show. The theatre hosts shows throughout the year that are Broadway style and feature shows from the 1940's through today. Shows are music, dance and comedy performances are a great for the entire family. The Follies are easily the theatre's most popular performance and guests can attend every year because the show is rarely the same. Dancers range in age from 56 to 86 years of age and all performers work hard to make sure the audience is entertained and goes home happy. The show was originally predicted to be a failure since the performers were so much older than one might expect to see in a dance production. However, it was an instant hit and has been an anticipated part of the Christmas season in Palms Springs ever since. Since opening its doors in 1931, the Plaza Theatre has entertained visitors and featured performances from people as popular as Jack Benny and Bob Hope. After undergoing renovation in 1991, it saw a resurgence and today is one of the most popular destinations in Palm Springs.
