UC Berkeley Museum of Art

UC Berkeley is a premier college in the western United States. Anyone who wishes for a higher education with top professors may consider UC Berkeley and its various programs. For students and visitors to California the UC Berkeley Museum of Art, Science, and Culture can be an attraction worth seeing. The museum is an hour from San Francisco in Danville, California.

There are 11 galleries as part of the museum with ramps and stairs connecting each one. The most popular exhibit is the Pacific Film Archive and the sculpture garden. UC Berkeley Museum of Art was opened in 1970. The architecture of the structure makes it an amazing piece of art all on its own. There is a radial plan with a fan shape allowing each gallery to be accessed from various levels. There are plenty of ongoing exhibits and public programs to keep public interest. A permanent collection for example is Hans Hoffman Paintings.

A shop and Café Muse are onsite as well. Gallery hours are 11am to 5pm Wednesday through Sunday and 11am to 9pm on Thursday. Admission is $6 for adults and children, and anyone under 12 is free.
