William Hill Winery

The William Hill Winery in Napa, California is part of the wine region's collection of wineries. The winery is known for its Chardonnays, Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons, primarily due to its location off the Silverado Trail. The vineyard is just steps from winery, making the process of crafting wines easy for winemaker Ralf Holdenried. He is able to be involved in every step of the process from planting and harvesting the grapes to bottling and service of the wine. Holdenried prides himself on the winery's ability to develop individual flavors and blend them together for a unique variety of wines. The winery is five minutes from Highway 29 and welcomes visitors with appointments for tastings. In addition to a tasting, guests are encouraged to tours the estate and learn about the entire William Hill process. Tours include information about the winery's history, the terroir, the seasonal wines, the vineyard and the winemaking process. Included in the experience is the chance to taste four of the wines from the Napa Valley, Estate and Bench Blend collections. The Napa Valley wines are known for their superior fruit quality, intensity and layers of complexity. The Bench Blends are elegant and rich with intense fruit flavors and the Meritage wines are crafted from select blocks at the estate.
