As of 2015, 23 states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana for medical and recreational use. Despite some forms of legalization, thousands of American people think that marijuana should be legalized for free use.

Modern prisoners of America: races and religious affiliations

According to research published by Statista.com, the United States has the largest number of prisoners in the world, with about 2.2 million people in prison in 2015. In comparison, China took second place with 1.6 million prisoners, so there is a large difference between the highest and second-highest rate. There are 667,000 prisoners in Russia, which is the third highest. Brazil (607,000 prisoners) and India (411,000 prisoners) round out the top five.

American Jewish people: who are they?

It’s no secret that Jewish people are living in many countries around the globe. The Jewish expatriate community in the United Stated is one of the largest. Pew Research Center suggested two main categories of American Jews in 2013: Jews by religion and Jews of no religion. Jews by religion are those who do not profess any other religion and who described their religion as Jewish. Jews of no religion are those who have a Jewish parent or were raised Jewish, but described their religion as atheist or nothing in particular. Almost 80 percent of Jews in 2013 identified themselves as religious, and 22 percent were Jews of no religion. The survey showed that one in ten American Jews are Orthodox.

The American history of drugs began in the early 20th century. Since the creation of heroin, the U.S has become one of the fastest-growing drug markets. Nowadays drug trafficking in the U.S. is conducted by criminal organizations from Mexico, South America, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Africa. Many illegal drugs have been used for thousands of years for spiritual and medical purposes, but now in modern society they are obviously illegal and dangerous.
