Baseball's True Stories: You Can't Make These Up

Two exciting and ironic baseball plays have occurred so far in the year 2022. I swear, you can't make this stuff up; it's too good.

On April 7, Seth Beer of the Arizona Diamondbacks smacked a game-winning, walk-off home run to propel his team to victory, 4-2, over the San Diego Padres in Phoenix. And here's the irony: That day was National Beer Day.

Fast-forward to May 28, where Jake Burger belts a solo homer in the fifth inning...

You're so right. I am hardly part of the gun culture. I am a suburban professional.

Normally I go to synagogue Friday night. I didn't tonight because I know we're in for another hectoring "sermon" about the need for gun control. Indeed, we were all sent an email from a retired Rabbi, excerpted below:
