Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Walking In The Power Of The Spirit

Posted 08-20-2023 at 10:24 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

In Isaiah 60, we understand that darkness will cover the earth, and people will fall into deep darkness, but when we rise up and take action, then God's glory is seen on us, and nations will come to our Light, HIS LIGHT. God has a plan, but His plan involves us taking action by bearing fruit that remains for His advancing Kingdom -- transitioning from being spectators to being participants in the greatest Spiritual outpouring and awakening this world has ever seen. As troubled times come, we are...

Supercharging Your Spiritual Life

Posted 08-20-2023 at 08:33 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Genesis 15:5,6 - "He took him outside and said, 'Look up at the sky and count the stars--if indeed you can count them.' Then He said to him, 'So shall your offspring be.' Abram believed the LORD, and He credited it to him as righteousness."

Scriptural meditation simply means thinking about and reflecting on the Word of God. It means pondering a particular scripture and mentally applying it to your own circumstances again and again until that scripture permanently marks...

Understanding Faith And Desire

Posted 08-20-2023 at 08:31 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Mark 11:24 - "Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you shall have them." Faith says, "I can't see it, but I believe it is there."

Faith never deals with what you have done, but with what you yet could do -- everything you could be is you now, waiting for you to make demands on it by faith in God.

In Mark 11:24, very often, the Church has misread the word desire. We have expected,...

Exercising Poverty Of Expressing Your Opinions and Observations

Posted 08-20-2023 at 08:28 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Acts 24:16 - "I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men."

In Matthew 26:22 Jesus said, "One of you will betray Me." the disciples asked, "Lord, is it I?" Every one of them was so conscious of his human weaknesses that not a single one of them could say that it would not be he. How long do you think Jesus had known who would betray Him? Jesus had been with them, feeding them, walking up and down with them, and He had...

Understanding Your Freedom In Christ

Posted 08-20-2023 at 08:24 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Matthew 6:34 - "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

When the children of Israel were in the desert, God gave them fresh manna from heaven every morning. (Exodus 16:13-16). They did not have to worry about tomorrow because when tomorrow came, there was fresh manna again.

Today, God's manna is the grace He gives you every day. If you are worried about a situation tomorrow,...
