Posted 12-16-2012 at 11:45 AM by LookinForMayberry

It's been MONTHS, but after three physical therapy sessions, doing the prescribed exercises, and two full prescriptions of anti-inflammatory medications, Bigun got to take me on a walk along the trails. It was such a gift. I just love watching that waving tail above those skinny little haunches as he examines every scent. I was afraid perhaps he would feel more exuberant than I was able to control with him off-lead, but he was the perfect gentleman. He would bound about twenty yards ahead, glance...

Posted 12-09-2012 at 06:45 AM by LookinForMayberry

Presbyterian, Lutheran, Foursquare?

Posted 12-02-2012 at 10:55 AM by LookinForMayberry

DH and I don't usually go to church since moving to Kenmore from North Seattle, where we attended the Center for Spiritual Living. It's not that we don't believe, it's just that most traditional churches pulpits seem to spew more hate and condemnation than we are comfortable in exposing ourselves to in a given hour. Apparently, they cling to the smiting and reviling over the compassionate heart of forgiveness that we prefer.

That said, last week I decided that if you cannot worship...

With a Special Thanks to My CD Friends

Posted 11-22-2012 at 08:01 AM by LookinForMayberry

You know who you are. The ones that pipe up with something nice to say in your posts, or give encouraging words to those that may be feeling fragile, or hesitant. Even if we are not connected, I appreciate you. There are enough people that are quick to say the mean word -- I've been guilty of it myself. The times when we keep those first thoughts to ourselves and go with the next thought before answering: "This person is like me in many ways, how would I like to be responded to?" -- those...
