hunterseat df: Hunter Seat Equitation is a division that is judged on the ability and the style of the rider. The riders can be judged both over fences and on the flat.

Although true, hunters DO eat, at least the skilled ones do, my name derives from the world of horses.

And because the word hunter is in my name, people automatically think I'm a guy. Not even close.

Whenever I meet someone named Hunter I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying "That's my name, too!"

Long time no blog

Let me tell you, this whole commitment to the vegan diet for 3 weeks is about to kill me. But after strategically bringing it up at all the right times for a couple of weeks and actually doing it myself before the target start date I was able to bring my carnivorous other half right on board willingly.

"Watch your step, Mr. Van Fleet, and I hope you enjoy the adventure."

I've learned a lot. I've learned many vegan dishes have very bland colors. On the other hand, the Mexican dishes are out of this world. (last night was sweet potato/bean burritos) I nearly stress out trying to figure out dishes that he will enjoy. Food is so important to my guy. Sometimes it's 9pm before I finally have the kitchen straight and can relax. (my blog absence excuse)

Well, yes, indeed, Mr. VF is enjoying the adventure as well as the nearly 15 pound weight loss in the first couple of weeks - 2nd week ends Monday. I catch him telling his kids about it on the phone. I can always tell their reaction when he starts explaining that beans, soy... etc is all providing him enough protein. But it's about eliminating the stores of animal fat that is locked in our muscles. Dr. Barnard explains it better in his book.

Thankfully his business is getting off the ground after a year hiatus in Hawaii. He's been on a job for nearly two weeks and the painters have noticed the weight loss and want the info on the diet. My job? To keep him as full as possible so he doesn't feel deprived and it's working. And today? Saturday. I get to relax for a while as he does an estimate and gets a little plumbing finished at his job site.

So here I am. I think of things all the time that I want to tell you. I've decided to send myself a quick email during my work day break that I can copy and paste. Another good habit to get into.
