East Manatee County leads in Growth

I read an article recently in the East County Observer about changes in Manatee county from 2014 to 2015.
It stated Anna Maria Island saw the largest increases in property tax values, almost 9%. No surprise there, living walking distance to the miles of beautiful public beaches does make the area very popular with both home buyers and investors.
However, the largest increase in population has shifted east of I-75. The East Manatee Fire Rescue District area (which runs from the Manatee River south to the Sarasota county line, including most of Lakewood Ranch) saw new construction increase by 64% between 2014 and 2015, approximately $364 million in total. That same area saw values increase by approximately 7% for the time period, so not far behind Anna Maria Island.
Considering the number of new developments that have opened this past year or are on the planning books for 2016 - 2017, the moving eastward trend should continue in Manatee county for years to come.
