I hope that you don't mind my PMing you. I am currently in a rural area in SW VA (born in NoVA). I am looking for a more conservative state that has the same rural lifestyle. I lived in IA and MO for a couple of years each and loved the slow pace of life, but tornadoes were not so much fun. How is TN overall? I don't want a lot of snow like the midwest. I love SW VA, but the new liberal overlords are going to pass laws to take away constitutional freedoms and push liberal lifestyle crap on the public. I am looking to go south for the better weather, but I am afraid of states with huge blue areas that will dominate our lives. I have to research TN to find the avian/exotic vets (I have bird and like to be within an hours drive to one). I just need a small town to get groceries, doctor/dentist, and feed store supplies. I have ponies so I would want rural, affordable (I am retired), and low crime. I don't care about socializing or night life. Do you think that TN is a state that I should look into or keep doing south? How are taxes on retired folks?

    Blogs Are For Journaling Only

I hate to break this to you, but this is not the place for personal messages. If you need to interact with another member, then please use the Direct Message or Visitor Message function to reach that person faster and more directly. It beats wasting a blog post.

These lesser-populated blog pages are for journaling only. Thanks.
