South Dakota Residency for Expat?

Also, I have been searching for a country to move to, part or full year, and it is difficult. Online searches can leave a lot of unanswered questions.........such as whether a person who is an American citizen would have to pay taxes in both countries. Whether a credit could be applied to the US taxes for any foreign tax paid. It is my understanding that the
only way to stop the US taxes is to give up American citizenship.


Can you shed any light on this?
