Life Saver? Who Knew!

Life takes odd turns, to be sure.

Past few days two people have thanked me for sending them to a certain surgeon in Mexico. The guy is world class at what he does; where-feasible I'm convinced offshore is the way to go. For certain procedures, anyway.

One guy is suggesting I "saved his life." Why do I mention this? Pfft: I post in various places about various topics, and offer a bit of counsel when-asked (not "advice" as the worst vice is AD-vice). Always risk-assessment based, too: "do this, odds are (that) will happen." Think of pros and cons, determine the value of the decision. "Can you monetize it" remains my Life Rule No. 1 for decision making, short-form!

This isn't a humble-brag or virtue signaling bull: sometimes what we say and write affects others profoundly, and I'm trying to be a little more cognizant of that in my 50s.

I said to the above guy, who was 515 lbs. and dying, "save yourself: do (this), here is why, you'll be fine" in so many words. I think he will be. The other fellow made it known via my nutritional doctor he's going to "buy me a case of soy chips" or some other doctor-approved item, which I found cool as-well. The little things make it worth it sometimes.
