Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Expecting God-Empowered Boldness

Posted 05-08-2021 at 09:51 PM by Albert Finch

"that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, that the Christ may dwell, through faith, in your hearts, being rooted and founded in love, - Ephesians 3:16,17

As believers, we are rooted and grounded in His magnificent love (Ephesians 3:17). We have courage, the depth of which is confidence in the Lord. Today we declare that we will "Trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not unto our own understanding; in all our ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct our path." - Proverbs 3:5,6

Truly the Lord will be strong on our behalf! This knowledge enables an act of deep courage within and causes us to be so anchored in His love that our hearts and minds are steadfast. Thus, we reach a place of focus that comes from being lead by the Lord.

COURAGE TO PERSEVERE

Holy perseverance is God-empowered boldness and courage that enables us -- deep within -- to persevere in seeking and pursuing his purpose for our life. One way to define perseverance is simply to "stay the course." This is a powerful blessing from the Lord that enables us to believe the impossible is possible. It is a work of the Holy Spirit within that enables us to have the strength to stay the course, regardless of present circumstances or situations. This is what the prophet Isaiah wrote about:

"Fear not (there is nothing to fear), for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My (victorious) right hand of rightness and justice...Isaiah 41:10 AMP

In this passage, the Lord promises to be with us, to strengthen us, to keep us, and to hold us in a place of victory. The Hebrew meaning of the word strengthen is "to be strong, alert, courageous, brave, stout, bold, solid, hard." Here is a more in-depth look:

a) to be strong, brave, bold

b) to strengthen, secure (for oneself), make firm, make obstinate, assure

c) to be determined, to make oneself alert, strengthen oneself, confirm oneself,

d) to exhibit strength, be strong, feel strong

COURAGE TO BELIEVE FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE

You can stay the course because of the enabling of the strength of the Lord for you and in you! Expect the Holy Spirit to release an even greater strengthening deep within so that you will stand firm for the promises of the Lord for advancing His Kingdom through our individual calling in Christ.

As you lean into the Lord -- go from strength to strength with deep courage to believe for the impossible to be possible.
