Free Will, Human Errors in the Bible, and Faith in Jesus

Posted 07-01-2021 at 01:28 PM by MysticPhD

Contradictions about our possession of Free Will evoke the kind of double-minded nonsense that refuses to acknowledge existing errors and contradictions in scripture without any awareness of their actual contradictory nature. God certainly COULD have prevented any errors. But by His Sovereign Will, He gave us Dominion and Free Will. God is NOT double-minded. Either we have that Free Will, or we do not!

If we DO have free will, then God would not and did not interfere with our receiving, interpreting, and recording of His inspirations which means that all scripture is subject to our flaws, fallacies, corruption, and misunderstanding. This leaves our understanding in need of an incorruptible source of Truth. That would be Jesus, the Way to the Truth, Life, and God.

God sent Jesus to describe and unambiguously demonstrate the Truth about God's Holy Spirit of agape love with His life and death. This was to actually SAVE us from our iniquities, NOT merely to OFFER us salvation if we believe what some church tells us to believe ABOUT Him and God. The focus on what to believe ABOUT Him can and does build church membership (over 30,000+ denominations). But it has nothing to do with our salvation which is FINISHED by what Jesus actually did and said.

However, actually having FAITH that Jesus is who He says He is, did what He says He did, revealed the True Nature of God by His very life and death, and abides with us as the Comforter to guide us as He said He would, is how we find the Holy Spirit within us and the motivation to DO as He instructed - love God and each other every day and repent whenever we fail.
