Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Some Things Change, And Other Things....

.......stay the same. But isn't that life for you?

I couldn't really come up with an appropriate title explaining what I'm about to explain. I've been on City-Data for fourteen years now, and only recently, I've drifted away from the posting aspect on our forums. Oh, I might pop up every here and there on the Food forums or what have you, but there comes a time when one runs out of gas.

Let's face it, sports fans: This writer just got tired.

Through the years, I've seen many posters come and go. The reasons people come on this website are many and varied. Some come on once in a blue moon, but then you have others who are either very active or semi-active. Some seek certain information on places, things, and events, while others are looking for a place to hang out a while. City-Data is loaded with many members, and with them come many stories. Fortunately, your favorite blogger has had two outlets of expression and voice on C-D. One is our main forum pages, but the other, of course, is where you are right now. These blog pages have been therapy for me and have also provided a place where I can write things and speak my mind. The latter will certainly continue on for as long as this writer has breath and something to say, along with two trusty hands to type and a brain which somehow still works. After all, the whole world is waiting....

Now, this is not goodbye, and posters are not even allowed to do that anywhere on this site. It would be inaccurate to say that I'm even going away. I'm really not. I've just gotten to a point on the forums where I just had nothing fresh to offer anymore. No new thoughts. No new ideas. I have thoroughly enjoyed our Music forums for the twelve years I spent on it, and I gave everything I had, as it had been my most active participation. Plus, I'm also single and have never been married. If I had a wife, then you folks would likely not have seen as many forum posts as I've put out. But here I was, posting this and that for all of fourteen years, mostly in just four or five different forums, but occasionally, I might sneak over somewhere I'm usually not. There came a time when I just had to step back, to step away. Let the other posters do their thing, good or bad. I've still got Case's Column, and you all are still welcome here. You've always been interested in whatever would go on here, and I hope that you'll continue coming back. If whatever topic I happen to be on in one post doesn't interest you, well, then, you just wait a little bit. I usually come back with something a little different. Usually, if I feel up to it, my blog output is right around five to seven posts per month, but it's always more or less. Unless I get run over by a bus tomorrow or get beamed away in a space probe , chances are, you will eventually see another post right here.

You have to remember that when something does get on my mind and I'm not someplace distant just hoping to at least write the idea down before I get to my computer,.......

....you know that I'll be around to be in touch. That won't change.

The Lubbock forum is busy today with two new posts (from one person and you’ll never guess who, but still)!
