Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Heads, Seven Points --- Tails, Marietta

When I've got to make a hard decision on two good places to go, your writer brilliantly decided on a different plan. It's crazy, but the following was what I needed to resort to when I just have to decide.

You see, I'm trying to determine what catfish eatery I needed to make a return visit to, and I hadn't been to either place in a number of months. Two very fine catfish places (and I recommend both of them) are Molly's in Seven Points, Texas, and McGehee's in Marietta, Oklahoma. I had to decide, and it was either going to be East Texas-bound or head up north of the Red River. One has beans (Molly's) and the other doesn't (McGehee's), but, hey, that's the way the hush puppy crumbles.

Being the constructive, creative, and pro-active citizen that I'm trying to be, Ol' Case took out a quarter and decided to do a coin toss in my work station this morning. That's right, a coin toss. Heads, George Washington, and tails, Mount Rushmore. In this case, I chose heads to be for Molly's in Seven Points, and for tails to be for McGehee's in Marietta. I did the toss....

And the result?

Tails. .... Oklahoma. .... McGehee's wins.

Imagine flipping a coin to make a decision in life. Perhaps I should do it more often.

That's how it will be this coming Saturday when I get off work, whichever time that will be. Oklahoma and Wanda and the girls and the Red River Valley view will get the call this time. Guess I'll have Molly's next time around. In any event, there will be good catfish.

    LOL.

If only every trip I make could be decided by a single coin toss.
