Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Grocery Store Mania: Many North Texans Flocking To See A New H-E-B

Posted 10-07-2022 at 05:43 PM by case44

About two weeks ago, it finally happened. Oh, sure, those in the Dallas area would have to drive to Waxahachie or Burleson if they wanted to get their fix of H-E-B brands and fine groceries.

Well, now, they won't need to.

And this writer eventually joined in the hullabaloo once some of the people and traffic have thinned a little. A new H-E-B grocery store has finally opened up in Frisco, Texas, and many folks are flocking there to get groceries, some national and others in the store-bought brand. The San Antonio-based grocery legend has just now gotten around to making that big splash in a competitive Dallas-Fort Worth marketplace. I even saw people venturing into the space set aside for H-E-B's own True Texas BBQ. As an eatery, it has actually gotten quite a bit of press from critics and they are getting rave reviews.

After I finish traveling in the next several days, I'll try to start doing a little grocery shopping at that H-E-B store, as my visit the other day was just to browse, look around, and watch a few of the other shoppers, which were many. This blog page will be updated when more H-E-B stores will open in Dallas-Fort Worth, including one in northwest Plano which is almost completed.

We can expect about five to ten new locations within the next year in North Texas.

Finally stopped in to actually purchase a few things. Parking was easier this time now that the novelty has subsided. I'm going to be loving this!
