Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Uncovering A Crazy Discovery About Drivers' Licenses
First of all, I'll preface by saying that I've renewed my driver's license. And this time around, I actually did the deed online. In doing so, I got to keep the picture I had taken six years ago when I did go in to the Department of Motor Vehicles office.
I'm glad I live in Texas as opposed to, say,............Georgia.
Why, you ask? Well, I learned on a fellow member's thread here on City-Data that Georgia residents can use pictures in the form of selfies that go toward digital identity cards which the state allows. However, there have been a few problems surfacing. You're going to be shocked at some of the findings. Taking selfies is one thing, but sometimes, a few daring non-celebrities take a few risks and go a little bit far. Some Peach State residents actually snapped pics of themselves in their birthday suits.
That's right, sports fans, they were nekkid! As jaybirds.
I'll have to admit, this is a first in this increasingly crazy country in which I live. I was relieved to find out that you can still get pictures made as normal in the Georgia DMV offices, but still, naked pictures for identification? There's more in the below link.

Let's face it: The only jewels a police officer needs to really see are the ones normally found in a jewelry store................., usually in a criminal's hands.
