Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Case's Column Now Fifteen Years Of Age --- Thanks So Much, Readers!
A few folks told me to do it. No joke. A few fellow City-Data posters encouraged this idea of me starting up a blog page. This was right around 2008. I wouldn't say that this concept was ahead of its time in any way, but such was badly needed on City-Data, where it's great to be alive.
2008. Man, that was some time ago.
Well, it happened to be around that time that this website you and I are in just happened to begin something new, and that's a home for bloggers to do their thing. So, I decided to take it upon myself to start that new venture. Other members at the time had already taken the plunge, so why not me? After all, I was still a relatively new poster, less wiser and not knowing any better than I do right now, and I just needed an alternative to our forum pages where we had topics for discussion which would be strictly moderated, whereas in this venue, I can speak my mind much more freely, albeit within some C-D boundaries. I'm just doing a journal. Who needs a YouTube or Rumble channel when I can get some mileage out of the written word right here on City-Data?
Ol' Case started this empty slate back in 2008, and the date happened to be June 28. Time flies, dud-nit? I've written quite a few of these rascals, haven't I? As long as I'm still kicking, I'll be writing. Chances are, many of you have read some, if not all, of my works in this potpourri gallery known as Case's Column. And it's too late for me to change it. This is what I have.....right here. Hard to believe I've written so much stuff, because I wasn't sure how far I'd go. Honestly. Fifteen years after my first post, here we are.
Look, gentle readers, posters will come and go. Some folks have come on to these blog pages and had written different things. Now, some have come on here not knowing what a blog is, thinking that this is just an extension of the forums. These blogs are not. Different ballgame here. And then we've had other folks who get it, and they understand what this is, and they make the most of their experiences. As for those of you who've read any part of Case's Column, thank you a thousand times over. Hopefully, I've enlightened you along the way with my "personal" journal. The quotes are there because, well, these supposedly personal writings have made their ways across so many lines, reaching not just those in America, but all across the world. Thank you.
Alright, so fifteen isn't too sexy a number. Just you wait five more years. I'll invite you to bring the beer.

Face it, sports fans, what in the flying fudge can a blogger like case44 do in fifteen years? I've made some folks smile, I've made others mad, I've made others cry (laughing
), and I've probably made some of you hungry (with the occasional food posts), but most of all, I've made people think. I've made them think about life, about how to appreciate it, about how to embrace it, and about how to live it.
