Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

As Soon As That Thought Comes To My Mind....

I had an idea for a blog post while at work today, but now, it's escaped my mind. Funny how, whenever I get a really good idea, and I'm someplace else and can't or I'm unable to write said idea down, then I'd have to try to keep it in my mind as best I can until I get back home to my computer.

Perhaps that thing can come back to my mind and that thought will go into this text. I hate when it's not there. Gotta get something in....

Wait, it's coming back and I think I'll......

No, it's gone again. Let me improvise a bit here if that ever....

Okay, now it's back. I'm going to get this first para-.......

No, dang it! It's left my mind again. Just when I have a grasp on that thought, that elusive thought, I've got to find....

There it is! I think. On the outer fringes of my mind, I'm letting it get closer and I've got to....

Rats! Can't think of it now. Come on, Case, before this writer goes to bed, he's got to make sure....

It's back again. Maybe. Sort of.

No, it's gone again. Until that elusive thought shows back up and is type-worthy, let's just send this blog to a station break.

Should Texas and Oklahoma merge and become one state? They're pretty much identical.

Well, Mo, they're both conservative, politically, but the two states have two different personalities. So, I can't really see that happening. And they have two very good history stories, so it's better to keep the two separate. Keeping it that way gives travelers the best of both worlds and they complement each other quite well. Texas has The Alamo, and Oklahoma was once Indian Territory.

Besides, why take the luster out of Texas/OU each football season?

I was just kidding around with you about that since I know you're a proud Texan. Do appreciate your response. Definitely interesting things about both states. I hope Robert Francis Beta O'Dork doesn't get elected!
