Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Fifteen Years On City-Data For Case
Time flies. So much so, in fact, that I actually didn't get to post on what I've forgotten to be an important anniversary date.
Fifteen years ago, I started posting on this place of expression known as City-Data.com, as I was curious. Turns out, this had become a place where I actually would meet people all across this Earth, answering questions, explaining things, helping others, serving others, shooting the breeze, or just plain having fun. Yes, there also were some moments where things got contentious or controversial, but the entire ride here was nothing short of great. If I've positively impacted one life, then I've fulfilled whatever mission I was on with this website.
I'd be amiss not to thank those who were supportive of my postings, be it on the forums or right here in this beacon of light. Thank you for the reps and the stars (Remember those?
). Thanks, also, for sending great messages to me through the years; they do mean a lot. Making your day was the important thing, and I think, for many of us, that that's what we try to do. Even though I'm not posting near as much as I used to, I'm letting you know that I'm still around and will stick my nose into just about anything. I still have my blog page, but you can message me anytime and I'll be obliged to reciprocate, as it's always good hearing from very important people.
Regarding the future, I'm not sure what that will hold, but if there's a need to post, then I'll certainly deliver. Life has no guarantees, so we must cherish every waking moment we have on this great Earth. When it's time to come on City-Data, I'll make sure that it's a great place to be.

I don't post at all anymore as I found myself getting into more of the controversial topics and starting to get concerned I was becoming somebody I don't want to be. I'm just a reader nowadays. 15 years for me, too. The nature of this place was just different at that time. Gang, please forgive me if my advanced years cause me to miss things I was supposed to have proofread before actually releasing this post or any other post.
I tend to think around the words that I'm going to put down, and in doing so, I tend to miss a word or put the wrong word or even a wrong punctuation in place. And, these days, it sometimes takes longer to catch something I've probably missed, so if anything looked a little purple to you along the way, then I'm sorry. I've always believed in checking your work before submitting it, but let's face it, I've been a victim, too.
Hopefully, now, after I actually make the correction, you'll finally understand what it was that I meant.
