User-submitted facts and corrections:

  • Annual summer community celebration held in July called Heritage Days recognizing important historical aspects of community.
  • I wanted to make a comment regarding another interesting former resident of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. Jim Rice, who was born and raised in Philipsburg, as well as being a veteran of the US Navy is now a successful musician having gotten acclaim for his first band Trouble and now with his new band Seed. Jim's career is really taking off and I think that it deserves mentioning on this site. Being from Philipsburg, we don't have a lot to be proud of, but Jim's national acclaim grows with each record release and concert tour and I think that he should be recognized.
