Clayton Ready (l) and Shea Henry, both Volunteer in Service to America workers do 'prep' work for wall finishing in this home in downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ready and Henry are among some 200 volunteers that remain in this North Central Iowa city assisting survivors of Iowa's 2008 flood disaster. These volunteers are part of a total FEMA, state and local effort effort to rehabilitate the stricken area. VISTA is part of area volunteer agencies that have allied themselves to form Long-Term Recovery Committees, a vehicle for communities to resolve the unmet needs of families and individuals in the area.
