Okay I've taken on this project and I am now DirecTV-free! No more monthly charges! I ordered a UHF outdoor antenna (the Clearstream C4 UHF antenna) and hired Robert from A1installer.com to install it. I also needed a preamplifier to get a clear signal since I have a lot of trees. He was able to use the existing DirecTV mast on the side of my house and I already had all the cables installed to my 2 TVs so I didn't need any additional cabling and the connections are using the existing coaxil
One of my TVs does not have an ATSC tuner so I've ordered a digital-to-analog converter box from Amazon and am awaiting that. As for a DVR I already have a Tivo.
I'm pulling in at least 15 channels, as far away as Greensboro. All the majors that I need: ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, FOX and the majors in HD!!
